Radical Love
Since we began in 2021, we have impacted over 17,000 lives. These lives include our volunteers, who range in age range in age from 6 to 95. There’s a joy to be found in loving your neighbor and being part of something bigger than yourself, and it’s often our volunteers that leave with the most.

Our Programs With Refugee Neighbors
Our programs with
refugee neighbors
Adults and children join with our resettled refugee neighbors at our Summer Friendship & Learning Program and meet-ups throughout the year. We host “learning stations” for adult refugee participants (with volunteers helping run and assist in the stations). Our kids’ program and childcare run simultaneously, and adults and student volunteers help make the fun happen. Volunteer children of all ages are welcome; many mixing in with resettled refugee children. It often looks and sounds like the United Nations has come to the Fox Valley!
Snack Packing For Children
Snack Packing
for Children
Each month, we send 350 snack bags to local schools and housing complexes. Groups and teams of all kinds sign up for 50 or 100 bags, write messages of love and encouragement, then fill bags with snack food and deliver. Bags are discretely placed into backpacks to help fight hunger over long weekends or distributed in guidance offices while children wait to speak with someone. Groups meet on their own time and at their own location. Typically, groups packing bags purchase supplies.
Care Team

Make and deliver a meal to a local refugee family going through a major life event (birth of a baby, death in the family, a move, or sickness). Team members will be notified when there is a need (and food preferences / restrictions), and those who can help will respond.

Radical Love has a special partnership with a low-income senior citizen facility in North Aurora. We send volunteers there 2-3 times per month (for 2 hour time slots) to help unpack food delivered from a local food pantry. Volunteers set up food and help senior citizens do their shopping. Ages 6 and older.
Community

Community Christmas
Join us as 500+ people come together for Christmas. We match Radical Love refugee families with a “partner family.” Each refugee family has a list of needs and wishes, which the partner family works to fill. Involve your family, neighbors, teams, and co-workers to be part of the “partner family” and work together. Both partner family and refugee family come together at Community Christmas to meet, enjoy a meal and then a symphony together. Gifts are brought to the event. **Partner families and event volunteers are needed each year.

Radical Love delivers fresh bagels and coffee to teachers at schools with smaller or no PTO support. Help make these deliveries; email info@theradicallove.org.
Welcome Corps

Initiative
Radical Love is working in conjunction with the U.S. State Department and World Relief to help refugees find a permanent home in our community. Volunteers involved in this initiative serve as the “first friends” for our new neighbors – helping children enroll in school, adults find jobs, locate housing and furnishings, find a doctor and a dentist, and learn about our culture. *Refugees coming to the U.S. through Radical Love have a friend or family member that has been involved with our organization for more than 2 years.

- In many cultures, helping others is a daily part of life. Our refugee neighbors want to help serve our community. We share all our serve events with our community so we can all work together!
